Well hello, lovelies. It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Work and life have kept me busy. With NaNoWriMo coming up next month, I’ve been on the warpath to strengthen my writing muscles again. What resulted was a short story that I’ll be releasing soon. Conquering the Fairy Queen mixes sex, BDSM, and magic, in a kingdom at war. This is my first real fantasy piece that will be available to the public. I don’t have a release date yet, as it’s still in the works. It didn’t take me long to finish the first draft though, so redrafting, editing, and all of the fun stuff after shouldn’t take as long as a full length novel.
To celebrate the finished first drat, here is a small teaser below. This is incredibly raw, still in the first draft stage, so parts of it may change. In the mean time…
(PS: yes, I know the teaser is incredibly short. But the first draft clocked in at 18,900 words!)
Conquering the Fairy Queen
A Short Story by Jayda Myers
Teaser from the fifth chapter
“Safe word is red,” he said after a moment. Thoughts of roses and spilled blood crossed through his mind. “If we need to stop, you must say red. I will check in as needed, but you must speak up if we are to stop. Understand me?”
“Yes. Do you understand how I want to leave this place?”
He nodded again, since she missed the motion the first time, then said, “I understand. You will leave alive and unharmed.”
Aria’s gaze glinted with something dangerous. “Then why are you just standing there?”
What she said sent lightning through his blood. He reacted faster than he could track, grabbing her chin in one hand. “What did you just say to me?”
She stood firm in one spot, despite the pressure from his hand. “I said, why are you just standing there? Are we to begin, or no?”
Kalyn steered her backwards, until her back hit the wall. “We have begun, fairy. You will do well to be polite with me.”
“I am polite with those who deserve my kindness.”
Her words cranked him up and he pushed her back further. His hand slid from her chin down to her throat. She squirmed against him, but he saw the wildness in her eyes. He pushed her back by her throat, reveling in the smallest noise he drew from her.
“Funny. I’m the same way,” he said.
